GU constitutes committee to tackle caste based discrimination

Amid sporadic incidents of assaults on dalits in several parts of the country, the Gauhati University (GU) has constituted a seven-member committee, headed by university vice-chancellor PJ Handique, to look into the discrimination complaints to be received from SC, ST, OBC students, teachers and non-teaching staff.
